I’m Pastor Brett Davis, and I began serving Georgetown Lutheran Church (GLC) at the beginning of September, 2017.
If you’re considering visiting or checking out churches online, I know you’re looking for something real. Come visit and see if GLC is a fit for you. We’re a relatively small community with a big open mind and a real opportunity for serving, sharing, and connecting with others. GLC has been on this corner of Wisconsin and Volta for almost 250 years and has a rich history. Our worship is traditional, but not stuffy. In each era we’ve seen how God leads us to stay rooted in and yet grow and adapt to authentically reflect a living faith. This is truly an incredible congregation – people with diverse stories and backgrounds; we come with our doubts, our real lives, and our perspectives, to share in community here. We’re single people, families with kids, young adults, retirees, members of the LGBT community and folks who are new to the US, Lutheranism, or Christianity.
There’s a place for you here. But as Levar Burton used to say on Reading Rainbow, “don’t take my word for it!” Come to worship. Check out GLC. See where God is calling you – ask questions, challenge us, and consider how you might be a part of what God is doing in this community. I’ll even buy you a cup of coffee/wine/beer to talk about it. Come and see!
