Pastor Brett Wilson loves being a parish pastor. Raised Lutheran in the Richmond, Virginia area, she attended William and Mary for her undergraduate studies in Latin and education. After college, she taught Latin in the Richmond area, and has taught Latin and Greek to students from elementary to post-graduate level. It was as a part of campus ministry that she began discerning a call to ordained ministry, and through work serving as a program director at a Lutheran camp. She attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. From 2012-2017 she served Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Pastor Brett was called as our pastor and began serving in September, 2017. Pastor Brett currently serves on the Metro-DC Synod Mission Table team, and on the board for the Georgetown Ministry Center and Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp. She'd love to talk to you about either! In previous years Pastor Brett has served as chaplain to the Candidacy Committee in the Virginia Synod, and on campus ministry review teams for the ELCA. She has served as keynote preacher/presenter in festival and ecumenical settings, and served as a retreat leader and chaplain. A contributing writer to ELCA worship publications, Pastor Brett feels passionate about our Lutheran faith and theology as communicated through worship, preaching, and teaching. She currently shares her sermons and blogs at widemercy.wordpress.com. She enjoys reading, being outdoors, languages, yoga, and travel. Pastor Brett lives just a short walk uphill from church in Glover Park.
